What is Digital Citizenship?

We live in a digital world where interaction and communication can be very different from traditional face-to-face interaction and communication. It is imperative that we understand how to be safe, responsible citizens in a digital world. Check out the video and many, many more, to learn how to be the best version of you online!

Interland is a fun game, created by Google, to help students explore how to be a responsible digital citizen, or Internet Awesome!

Copyright law

As creators in a digital world, we need to be aware of and adhere to copyright law. Using another person's creative work as your own is never acceptable. If you come across copyrighted material, it can potentially be used in some form under Fair Use guidelines. Take the time to find out who owns the content you might want to use and if parts of it can be used for educational purposes, always give credit to the creator!

Every student at SRMS has a Jeffco-issued Chromebook for school use. Our expectation is that all students come to school with their device fully charged on a daily basis. Here is some important information regarding these Chromebooks.

• Chromebook Troubleshooting Please perform the troubleshooting steps in the document prior to reaching out for help.
• If your Chromebook is not working properly, please fill out this form. Tech help will then be rendered within 24 hours.
• Students and families are responsible for the care and keeping of the device. Here is a copy of the Jeffco Tech User Agreement, signed in Campus when you register your student for school.
• If you are in need of a new charger, here is a link to the correct replacement charger.
• School devices are for school use. We encourage students to keep their device cleaned up and free of games, extensions, and apps which cause the device to work very slowly. Performing a Chromebook Clean Up once a month is a great idea!
• Jeffco Public Schools has partnered with Securly to keep students safe while using their school-issued devices outside of the district network. If you would like to use Securly to monitor your child's Chromebook use, visit Securly Home.
